Project Overview

In August 2021, Livi Machinery successfully provided Hot-dip Galvanized Type A Egg Laying Hen Cages to a poultry farm in Lesotho, supporting the launch of a commercial layer facility with a total capacity of 15,360 birds. This mid-to-large scale farm combined reliable housing with essential automation to improve labor efficiency and hygiene in egg production.

Project Details

The customer built a fully enclosed poultry house sized 68m × 15m × 3.5m, designed to accommodate a high-density cage layout while ensuring airflow and easy access for maintenance. Livi’s team tailored the plan as follows:

• Cage Model: Type A, 4-tier
• Cage Dimensions: 195 × 45 × 41 cm
• Shed Layout: 3 rows × 32 sets per row = 96 sets total
• Total Capacity: 160 birds × 96 sets = 15,360 laying hens

This configuration makes full use of the shed space while ensuring appropriate ventilation and light management.

Equipment Supplied

To help the customer efficiently manage daily operations, Livi supplied:

• ✅ Gantry-type automatic feeding machine (1 set per shed)
