In Mar 2024, Livi Machinery supplied a complete Double-storey Poultry House Automatic A-type Layer Cage System to a layer farming project in Nigeria, helping the client efficiently raise over 25,000 laying hens in a space-saving, two-storey chicken house. This project maximized land utilization and integrated semi-automation to streamline egg production and daily operations.
Project Details
To optimize limited land space while meeting commercial egg production demand, the client adopted a double-storey poultry house structure. Livi designed and delivered a full cage system tailored to the shed’s structure:
- Cage Model: A-Type, 4-tier
- Cage Size: 195 × 45 × 41 cm
- Shed Size (each floor): 88m × 15m × 3.5m
- Layout: 4 rows × 40 sets = 160 sets per floor
- Capacity: 160 birds × 160 sets = 25,600 layers per house
This configuration allows for high stocking density while maintaining proper ventilation and workflow across both floors.
Equipment Supplied
Livi Machinery provided the following for each level of the double-storey house:
- 160 sets of A-Type 4-Tier Layer Cages (Hot-dip galvanized)
- Step-type automatic feeding machine (1 set per floor)
- Automatic egg collection machine (1 set per row × 4 rows)
- Nipple drinking system with water tanks
- Feces falls directly to the 1st floor
Manure cleaning was handled manually or with local solutions, as per customer preference. The core automation focused on feeding and egg collection to reduce labor and improve efficiency in peak production periods.
Installation and Service

- Complete house layout planning for double-storey integration
- Remote and on-site technical guidance
- Equipment operation training for farm staff
- Follow-up maintenance support and spare parts supply
Installation was completed in phases, with the lower level operating first while the second level was being finished.
